Before the service that was held at the Lindenhurst funeral home on Long Island, most of the family gathered at Dane’s daughter Rachele’s home. As sad as it was, it was also a very happy occasion. It is said that most people get to see their scattered family only at weddings and funerals, and unfortunately I think they’re right for the most part. For Dane, some of his nieces, nephews and sisters, traveled from Arizona, Texas, Minnesota and Hawaii. From the top left to the bottom are, Doreen, William, Erika, Dawn, Denise, Sheri, Missy, Dana and Rachele. This is only a handful of cousins that attended. Mom, my brothers Joe, Tom and myself were also on hand to take part in the days events.
